Volume 82: Shift #18

Image
Salut ma famille, wow what a week!     This was a crazy one once again! But we got through it with God by our side the whole time, we need that at all times. It was just kind of blah cause we were not able to find anyone new to teach nor did we really teach any lessons. This transfer has kind of been rough, and we feel like we are in a little bit of a hole. Luckily we have been able to successfully do a lot of English classes which has been so nice, and that has been the saving grace of our time here right now. As we continue to look for the hand of God in our work here, we are able to find it every time. The light Christ is always visible as you seek for it. So what do you do? Keep going!     Even though this week was meh, we still broke records! We have now officially accomplished 18 different shifts at the rat house! It's always gonna be called the rat house now, but we don't think there ever actually was one, it was possibly a reflection of something falling that...

Volume 81: This Is WAR!

Yoo what's good homies?!     These past 2 weeks have been a little bit of a drag. We've not had very many lessons at all, and we have been dropping lots of people as well. So what does that mean? It means we go finding. In Alma that means all we can do is either street contact, or do social media. We have been going hard on both of those. We have also been putting up so many English class posters around Alma and all of Lac Saint John. So we have been driving lots as well since we have a huge area, and there are more people than just Alma. Thank goodness cause the wonderful people of Alma have for some reason decided that free English classes are not a good idea. So every time we put up like 15 posters, the next day they are all gone. This means WAR. They have no idea that we do this 24/7 so they don't know what's coming. We are smarter. My favorite is when we put one right outside our house, and not after the 4th time its been gone in under 12 hours. We decided the next...

Volume 80: The Québecois Stare.

Tiguidou my friends, I'm here.     You have no idea what that means haha. Don't worry it's French... kind of.     Wow this week was HOT!     For some reason all of a sudden we decided to have 30 degree weather for a whole week. We were not prepared to say the least. Our apartment has been quite hot, and since it's a newer one, we have zero fans. Absolutely nothing. I'm getting flashbacks from last year... not good ones. But it's fine cause while we have been cleaning the members house that has received an "extreme home makeover", we found 5 AC units and 2 fans! She gave us 2 units and 1 of the fans, and we were so excited. In the end only one out of the 3 worked... we are still grateful. Another thing about the heat. The heat that means that we don't wear coats anymore, that means that everyone can see that you are a missionary. There is no big winter coat covering your clothing, it's all white shirts and ties. What does that mean? It means it...

Volume 79: I'm Richer Than Elon Musk.

Hey, hey, hey my friends!     This week was definitely one of the most exhausting weeks to date, especially Saturday and Sunday. Let's just say I love crystal light! Thanks Mom, and Happy Mothers Day!     We met this guy named Martin on the street. We asked him if he knew who God was, and he said "ya! I met him 20 years ago, he's the best!" We then learned that he was homeless and was about to start his career of planting trees once again. Which by the way happened to be where he met God I guess. He met him in the forest. Then he looked around and pulled us in real close, cause he was about to share a deep secret. He told us we couldn't tell anyone what he was about to tell us. It was top secret. We agreed because we wanted to know if course. So I guess I'm kind of breaking my promise but you don't know him so it's fine. Anyways, he said that he was Richer than Elon Musk. We were like really now, and he said yes, "I have money in all over the worl...

Volume 78: Mexican Fiesta.

Hola soy Dora, jk.     I had a dope experience with a Mexican family on Saturday! So it was overall a great week. It's all of a sudden 15 degrees here as well, that is a miracle in itself. Now we can hike on the actual ground and not on 6 feet of snow. Hype. I think we will go and try and so that today.     On Saturday we decided to deliver some banana bread to a couple who we were having a hard time getting ahold of. They came to church once, and we thought we had the adress but it was wrong. Luckily we were able to get ahold of them and they gave us the right one. We didn't tell them we would be going over on Saturday, so it was a suprise. We felt good about going so we did. When we arrived, we couldn't find the house, but we eventually did after a nice chinese lady helped us. She didn't even really speak french, but we did it. We knocked on the door and the man looked at us through the window and got scared, then he saw it was us and was like "ayyyyyye" so ...
