Volume 82: Shift #18

Salut ma famille, wow what a week!

This was a crazy one once again! But we got through it with God by our side the whole time, we need that at all times. It was just kind of blah cause we were not able to find anyone new to teach nor did we really teach any lessons. This transfer has kind of been rough, and we feel like we are in a little bit of a hole. Luckily we have been able to successfully do a lot of English classes which has been so nice, and that has been the saving grace of our time here right now. As we continue to look for the hand of God in our work here, we are able to find it every time. The light Christ is always visible as you seek for it. So what do you do? Keep going!

Even though this week was meh, we still broke records! We have now officially accomplished 18 different shifts at the rat house! It's always gonna be called the rat house now, but we don't think there ever actually was one, it was possibly a reflection of something falling that my companion saw... oh well the owner doesn't have to know that hehe. It will help with the cleaning. On this shift we got 3 new shelving units to put in her room. It will fit perfectly in beside the, well nothing because they actually don't fit. So while she was gone, we cleaned her room... we are going to leave that there and I'll just say I never wanted to but we had no choice. Gross. The same member has also been sick lately and she told us we need to drive her to the Hospital. Not to the one in Alma but to the one 30 minutes away in a different town. The one here I guess doesn't work. We can't do that. We are not allowed to that's awkward. Luckily her son who lives close was able to help. All is well. It's a really complicated situation, but all we can do is try to laugh and punch a wall.

Our English classes are going well! That is what's keeping us going here, we are grateful for the people that come and want to learn with us. We are continuing to grow the class size, and it's been like little miracles all around.

The best part of the week was probably yesterday when we went to a town called Roberval. We decided to try and put some posters up and talk to people. Sadly, we forgot to prepare the posters and there was nobody outside. We decided to do. Some social media, prayed to be guided and then we started walking towards the lake. We ended up meeting Diane, an old lady who we think was disabled but we didn't know. We talked her and she was super excited to talk to us and show us around. So she showed the best place to take pics and we talked for a while. After she was done she just said bye and left. As she walked away, she probably took 5 steps and then stopped to look back at us. She did that same thing until we couldn't see her. It was so funny and it made our day. It's the little things that keep us going.

Well that's all I got for this week, and remember don't abandon God especially when it's hard!
