Volume 81: This Is WAR!

Yoo what's good homies?!

These past 2 weeks have been a little bit of a drag. We've not had very many lessons at all, and we have been dropping lots of people as well. So what does that mean? It means we go finding. In Alma that means all we can do is either street contact, or do social media. We have been going hard on both of those. We have also been putting up so many English class posters around Alma and all of Lac Saint John. So we have been driving lots as well since we have a huge area, and there are more people than just Alma. Thank goodness cause the wonderful people of Alma have for some reason decided that free English classes are not a good idea. So every time we put up like 15 posters, the next day they are all gone. This means WAR. They have no idea that we do this 24/7 so they don't know what's coming. We are smarter. My favorite is when we put one right outside our house, and not after the 4th time its been gone in under 12 hours. We decided the next time we will but 3 all on the same post. We literally have infinite posters. I guess people really have nothing else to do other than look around town for flyers to take down... kinda says something.

So yeah that's honestly been my week! We have been driving all around Lac Saint Jean and putting up posters for the people to come and learn English! We have also piur some announces in some Facebook groups and we've had so many people who are interested in it! That's a huge blessing for us. As we have been exploring more of Lac Saint Jean we have been able to find these cool places to visit! For example, we found a restaurant called "Super Mario restaurant!" It was your typical Québecois restaurant and it was actually good. I had the Super Mario Hamburger with poutine, and I would say 10/10. Lac Saint Jean is pretty cool.

Recently with the snow melting really fast, we all of a sudden are flooding. It was fine until now. Luckily we are fine here, the river is just almost gonna flood the bridge but up north some people had to flee from home for a while. Since everything melted to fast the lake is high so everything else is as well. There is a road that got split in half, and they had to build a bridge for cars to cross it. Crazy stuff. It really didn't seem like anything was happening but now I can see the river is quite high.

After the two long weeks of not being able to find anyone new to teach, we were able to find 2! They are both from our english class! After the class we always share a spiritual message, and these two stayed. Both of them then shared very personal things with us, and we were able to relate it to faith and how their faith has grown thanks to the trials they've experienced in their life!! As missionaries people just tell you stuff, it's good and bad.

I've been thinking a lot about the character of christ this week. Elder Bednar talks about how the character of Christ is when we as humans would turn in to help ourselves, Jesus would turn out to help others. I've been trying to apply this in my life little bits at a time, and it's been cool. As we read about the life of Jesus, he truly does always turn out to help the people, even when they persecuted him. As followers of Christ, and children of God we should always try our best to do the same thing! After all he is our example!

I think that's all I got for the adventures in Lac Saint John! Tune in next week!
