Volume 22: The Big Bruh Moment

Image
Salut mes amis! J'espère que tu est bien!     Get ready for a doozy pt 2, but luckily this a little better than the last one (I think at least). Anyways I hope you all had a great week, and I also hope it's finally warm. Yesterday I woke up to a blizzard... I was not having it, but it's all gone now so I'm happy now. C'est la vie right? This week was good until last night. We had lots of good lessons and both Elder Giesbrecht and I have been getting a hang of French a lot more even in the week it's been! Nothing that interesting happened, but we had many things planned for the month of April that's for sure. I don't know of I've said already but I've been the head twitter guy for the French content part of Twitter for a while now (if y'all have Twitter go follow @JCinEC thankssss) and Elder Giesbrecht and I came up with the idea to make "how to" videos because it's been hard to get people excited for Twitter. So we made the intr...

Volume 21: Eau D'érable

Allô tout le monde, comment ça va? Well this week was probably the hardest one thus far. I'm definitely glad it's over that's for sure. I'll get into that a little later, but I would like to share highlight and bring a little light to this email.     So "eau d'érable" in French means maple water, and like I've said there is a lot of that here within the maple trees. A lot of people have them in their backyards because they are just that common, and one of those people is our good old (litterly) friend Annie who is 94. So we went over to her house on Friday so that we would shovel a path way for her towards the trees. She still trudges to the maple trees, even if she can't really see... so making the path was quite important so she wouldn't fall in the snow. But she's a determined lady, and would of done it anyways. After we made a pathway, we thought we were done, but we were definitely wrong because we noticed that she was putting on her c...

Volume 20: My Worst Fear

Image
Salut mes ami, ça va?     Even though this week was a day longer, it didn't feel like it. It's been pretty crazy with transfers happening tomorrow, and with us just having a baptism on Sunday. So time had gone by pretty fast!     Anyways so my biggest fear... well, transfers have yet to not make me stressed out. I guess you get more stress each time? I would have to say yes. Sadly, the time has now come for Elder Forsyth to leave me. I'm officially not being trained anymore, and I'm now just a normal missionary I guess. But now I'm susceptible to receiving a leadership position... now that's a whole other side of crazy. But luckily, I don't have to worry about that yet, so I will not get into it. On the other hand a new crazy has come into play. One of my fears coming into the mission was getting a companion that didn't know how to speak French. Well, that prophecy has now been fulfilled... kinda. My new companion is Elder Geisbrect, and he was called En...

Volume 19: Cigarettes, On Cigarettes

Allo tout le monde, comment ça va? I hope y'all had a great week! Mine was definitely one of the better ones, which is something nice to have once in a while. It actually went by pretty fast, which makes it that much better. Now, I got a good story (well I think it's good at least) coming up so get ready for this one.     So on Saturday we had our last part of exchanges, and we had a lot of lessons planned which was completely terrifying. To make things even better, they were all with people I didn't know because when you have exchanges, you teach the people in your district leaders area. So I was basically going in blind. There were a few lessons with family's (which were less stressful), and one with this guy. I am now gonna tell you about this guy. So with this guy I was told two things: 1. That apparently no one could understand him, and 2. He talked with his forehead so close to the camera, that was all you would be able to see. Maybe his nostrils and eyes here and...

Volume 18: Les Chats

Coucou tout le monde (I guess the French people say that as "hello" to babies and little kids, I was really confused when I heard it, and didn't know what it was but it makes sense now). I hope everyone had a great week, mine was sure better than last week, thank goodness.     Stories are always a good way to start so here's one. We went over to shovel snow for our good old (litterly) friend Annie. She is 94, and as spicy as can be. In return she made us some dinner, so it was a good deal. Luckily it wasn't to cold out, because I still seem to think I'm greater than the cold, and never bring gloves. I don't know when I'll learn, but so far I've been able to withstand it; so we will see when that comes back to bite me. Anyways, we found out she has a lot of land, so that made for a long time shoveling. She has a huge garden, a barn for animals, and like 20 maple trees. So we cleared all the paths so she could walk outside. I'm not sure how she t...
