Volume 60: What's Covid?

Image
...get ready for a day by day update from me, Elder May. Basically, I got COVID, at the beginning of the week, we had Christmas, then we got transfer news. So let's just say this is one for the books.     Monday, December 20: Today we went to the Branch Presidents home so that we could have a FUN pDay and play Settlers of Catan which is one of my favorite games. So of course we said yes. We had a great time, and played some fun games! So over all it was a great time. Then we went home and finished out our pDay by calling our families. How wholesome!     Tuesday, December 21: Woke up to a text saying that one of the people that played Catan with us got tested positive for Covid. And that's where it started. So the rule is that if we don't have symptoms we don't have to do anything but we do have to take a test. So we started to look online. We found out very fast that every single place is booked up until January 15th... what a great day. We did end up finding somethi...

Volume 59: Concert De Stress

Joy to the World!     Hello and welcome to another episode of my life here over email. This was a long week. But we have Christmas this week which seems like not real or like Christmas is even a thing but it's been fun here! It's also so cold all of a sudden, and that's not fun. But at least we finally we have snow, that is good at least. Well let me now try to remember what happened this week.     First of all, we had the Christmas concert. THE Christmas concert that we have been planning for like over a month. We finally did it, after advertising it all over the place and asking a lot of people "do you like Christmas music?" It kind of worked. In Quebec there are a lot of Grinches even on Christmas. But that's ok, we work with it. In the end, we did have people come, but it was mostly members who supported us. We are so grateful for them. Some of our friends of the church came as well, and we even invited someone we found on Facebook, and he came! That was a...

Volume 58: The Petit MAssage

Ahhhhhhhhhhh that's how I feel right now.     We just got transfer news for a mini transfer that we are having right before Christmas so that the people that are actually going home will be able to be home for Christmas. Makes sense, but Elder Felix is getting thrown out of Victoriaville, and I'm getting not one but 2 new companions lol, #triolifeagain which is good. But it's gonna be a hard goodbye to my first trainee. We have been together for 4 months! That's a lot. But it was a good time. At least we are staying in the same zone, so that will be good. Other than that, right now we are driving to Drummondville again to do our district p-day gift exchange! I'm so excited! Also we are racing the Sisters in Victoriaville, and we are gonna win. There are personal items on the line, so this means war. Lucky there is absolutely zero snow so we are good. It's been so windy here, all of it is gone. It's basically spring now.     Funny story, as I was on echange...

Volume 57: Asante

Habari, what's happening?     This week zoomed like wow. It was like one thing after another, then boom it's Sunday (PDay Eve), and that's a glorious day! So ya this week was filled with lots of great stuff, and most of it was lessons and light the world! Light the world is awesome, and we have lots of great opportunities to serve others! Also it just means Christmas is coming lol.     First we have a miracle that was crazy. So basically we have been working with a less active member for a while! She is amazing! We do service at her house every week, and she just has the best energy ever! She even came to church yesterday!!! That was a huge step for her, and we were all so happy to see her there! But anyways one day she told us there was a new family that just moved here from Africa. She said they speak Swahili, and some French, so she asked if we could help her install some curtains for them. Of course we said yes! So we went over there, and I had no idea what to ac...
