Volume 94: Bye Bye Birdy.

Hey Family, another week has come and gone! I definitely needed a P-day after this one. It was a lot of stuff, but as always good stuff here in Québec! I love it here!

To start off on Friday, we got some sad news. We got a call from President Harkness and he asked for Elder Bird. We new something was about to take place. Basically he got transfered yet again, so we had to say goodbye to the Bird. We honestly thought that he would stay until the end of the transfer, but God has called him elsewhere! We had to rearrange our day so that we could help him pack since his flight to Montréal was that same day. So then started the day of crazy. Before we dived in to that we went and enjoyed Poutine Fest. I had heard about it before, and I was determined to see what it was all about. It comes every summer, and it's basically just a bunch of food trucks with poutine. Overall it was a good experience, but I don't think it was worth $22.00... it's all part of the experience right? It's fine. After that we went home, packed some stuff, then went back to the church to teach a lesson, then we went back home to finish packing, then went back to the church to teach another lesson, and then one more. God helped us accomplish all that, there is no doubt about that. AND, even better was that we were not even that late. After all that stuff, we said bye to Elder Bird. Sad time, but we will see each other again. It was crazy how close we 3 became after only 8 days. It's a record.

Now with that behind us, these weeks are really just now us preparing our 3 friends for baptism! I've never really had an experience quite like this one. God has blessed us so much, and he helps us each day so that our friends are prepared to make covenants with God. Our plan is to have a mega baptism day with all the people who are going to be baptised on the same day. That is 5! The spirit is going to be so strong! Keep praying for Rayme, Tommy, and Simon, especially Tommy at this time because he is getting knee surgery this Tuesday!

On Saturday we had another branch corn roast. It was super fun, and we had a great turn out! We even had 2 of our friends come and meet us there! They both were also able to meet and talk to all the great members here in Québec. It's the best situation honestly! After we ate, we had a lesson with Rayme, and we were even able to get some members to come and help teach. They bore powerful testimony about the Law of Chastity, and the spirit was really strong!

Yesterday we had a huge thunder storm, and it was the loudest I've ever heard. We were on our way to a member's house to meet their less active son who is a young adult, and it was a great one. The mom warned us that her son would just say no and not leave his room from his video games. We took a chance, and she was quite right. He didn't move. But we did kinda talk to him so that was a plus. We did end up sharing a message about repentance with the mom, and it was all good. But then all of a sudden she started sharing stories about the ghosts that lived in her house. I have no idea how that happened, cause we were talking about repentance. Anyways it was fine.

We have been invited as a mission to read 2 Nephi, specifically looking for all the invitations given. As I've been doing that, I've already noticed so many! But what has stuck out to me the most is that, all the invitations are pointed to us having eternal life. It truly is the most important, and grand invitation! Everything we are told to do, will help us be able to have eternal life with Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ!

"...men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life..."-2 Nephi 2:27

Have a great week, and enjoy the last few weeks of summer!
