Volume 86: Check, Check, And Check Again.
Salut ma famille, comment ça va?
This week was pretty crazy, and jam packed with lots of good stuff! We found lots of people and had a few friends come to church! We also put one of our good friends on date so that just topped it off! Overall it was a good week, but it was very demanding and exhausting. That's ok, it's just the package deal. But of course in the end it is all worth it.
Quebec really just hits different! There are so many opportunities to speak with people as we are doing our daily tasks. As we have been doing that, and teaching lots of lessons; we were able to find 7 new people to teach this week! It was really nice to see that our goals were all reached this week. That being said we also had our friends come to church, and they even got to listen to me speak. Funny thing is that I only had planned on giving one talk in one of the branches that I serve in, but one of the councillors came up to me and my companion and said that we needed to give talks in the second sacrament meeting. I am very grateful that I already had my talk printed out and ready to go.
Something that is really fun about being the JAS Elders here in Quebec is that we are the ones that plan the activities for all the young adults. This week on Tuesday we played volleyball in the gym with all the peeps! We had over 20 people show up and I think it was the most people that have ever showed up! We had so many members, and as well we had so many different friends of the church come and play! It's such a good opportunity to bring up the gospel of Jesus Christ in a normal and natural way. We were even able to get a pretty good rally going which makes it a lot more fun. Then on Friday we had a little surprise activity. I say that because we were not going to have it because a lot of members were in Montreal for a conference. But we decided at the last minute to set up something! We had lots of help from another set of missionaries who invited so many people! In the end we were able to get like 6 new people to join us, and we also got all their contact information and they said they all wanted to come back for future activities! Bonus! YSA is the best.
Out of the 7 people that we found, there were some really cool people! One of them by the name of Arthur decided to come to one of our activities this week! He didn't speak any French but he wanted to meet new people and play some games. We all had a good time together playing volleyball, and since there were so many people, we had to do some subs on and off. When Arthur went off, he started looking around the chapel! When I noticed him doing this, I felt the impression that he wanted a chapel tour. But I wasn't really able to act on it because we were playing. After the game night, we went up and talked to him. He then expressed interest in a chapel tour! It was so cool. We basically taught him everything about what we believed, and he smiled the whole time. I know that the spirit was present as we taught him these principles. He said that he felt at home before he left. He is so cool.
Another cool person we met goes by the name of Angelique. I met her over Facebook, and she is super nice, and open to learning! She loved the Book of Mormon and the message we shared with it. We need lots of prayers for these people, they are awesome!
Overall it's been a great solid week of missionary work. We have seen so many miracles in the work and we love it! When we ask for miracles, they will come!
Until next week!
