Volume 84: The End Of A Moufette.
Hey family what's up!
We had a crazy 2 weeks and my companion and I both new that it was gonna fly by! Looks like it did, we are already here with transfers this week! It's been a wild ride here in Alma, any guesses where my next journey will be? Well I sure didn't expect it, I'm staying again, another transfer! That will make it number 5 in the great north. We got big plans up here for this new transfer!
Just kidding...
I'm moving to Quebec City! I didn't expect that honestly but I'm ok with it. I will be serving in the YSA! I've never had that opportunity yet on my mission so I'm excited to see what that looks like here. I'm been around Québec City quite a bit, and it's really beautiful! I'm excited to live there! I would say that there are just a few more things to do there then here in Alma... maybe a few, not sure. We will have to see. But here is something that sucks, I found out that my MTC companion Elder Depew is coming to this area! I literally just missed him... we were almost in the same district. But luckily I will get to see him at zone conference. First time since November 2020!
Now the next few days I will be saying goodbye to the best people ever! The people of Alma are quite interesting but they are the best. I've learned so many lessons here in this small area, and it's got a big place in my heart! I'll be back!
As for the week...
It's been raining for 2 weeks straight. It's crazy and it's supposed to rain all this week as well. Im so confused. But at least it's not snow. So with the rain it's been quite hard to do things outside... so a lot of our work has been on social media. This is a good thing because we find more success talking to people on Facebook than in person. So funny. That has been a lot of what we have been doing, super exciting stuff. We have also been delivering lots of banana bread, that's been fun. Then we have our English classes which I am gonna miss so much! It was so fun to see all these people each week, we even danced with the 9 year old that we are teaching as well. English class in underrated. Everyone needs to do it.
The big thing this week was our mission tour with Elder Douglas of the Seventy. He came and spoke to us in Drummondville! It was nice to go back to that church building, I have served half my mission around that church! Good memories! I learned so much, he's quite the firecracker I would say. The big thing that stood out to me was when his wife talked about the relationship we have with sheep. We are basically the exact same. Here are some things that relate us to sheep:
-Sheep know the voice of their Shepherd.
-Sheep are scared of the dark, in fact they don't even move in the dark.
-Sheep are defenceless without their Shepherd.
-If a sheep falls, it cannot get up without the help of it's Shepherd.
I love the last one. We truly cannot get up without our Shepherd. Especially when we fall hard. We need our Shepherd, we need Jesus Christ to be there so that we can get up and try again. Thanks to the Atonement, that is all possible for all God's children. We are all included.
There is my little spiritual thought for the week!
By the way, "Moufette" means "Skunk", and the reason I say that is because Anna's kids (who we are teaching) for some reason call us Moufettes instead of our real names. I'm Moufette #1, and my companion is Moufette #2. That's just how it be sometimes. Wow I'm gonna miss that little family! They have changed this area, and I'm so excited to see their progress on the covenant path!
See you in Québec!
