Volume 75: Wait, Is He Actually Doing That?

Salut mes amis!

So about 5 minutes ago we got home from getting our groceries as per usual. We noticed that our good old downstairs neighbor was also outside doing who knows what. We got out of the car and went to get the groceries in the back. As we were getting the bags, we looked up and saw our neighbor searching through our garbage bin. FYI-We had just thrown out many things before we left so that we had room in the fridge. So the garbage was full of yummy items. We just stood there with our eyes fixed on him, repeating the same words "wait is he actually doing that?". Yes, he is we learned. He ended up taking a moldy pie, rotten spinich and potatoes, and the old container of spinich dip we finished. Then he walked inside like he was about ready for lunch. Overall a great experience for us this Monday.

Now off of that note, this week went by pretty quickly, and it was overall a good one. In General Conference President Nelson talked to us about how we need to have the faith to expect miracles. So that's one thing I've been trying to focus on! I've been praying and asking for miracles, and let's say that the Prophet is definitely an inspired man. As I have been focusing more on miracles, that's all I can see around me! Even in the little things, I am able to see God's hand all the time.

One miracle we experienced this week was in a lesson with our friend Anna. She is progressing so well, and when we asked her if she prayed about the Book of Mormon. She said "yes, I know it's true". It filled me with joy! She then showed us that she randomly opened a scripture in the Book of Mormon and started reading it. It was about baptism! "That's not a coincidence", said Rita. I agreed. Continue to pray for her and her family!

Another one was at service. We love going to Moisson to sort rotten food all the time. There are always new people, and everyone is so friendly. On Tuesday we headed over to the main side as usual. When we entered, the man there said "we don't need help, go to the other side." I was like bruh no I don't like the other side, there is never anything to do (in my head lol). So we headed over, and when we walked in we saw 2 men. One who is always there, and another who was new. His name is Matthieu. He asked us so many questions, we ended up teaching him the restoration at the place we worked. Then on Saturday we showed him how to use zoom for the first time, and we taught the plan of salvation. He liked it, and we ended up also giving him a Book of Mormon. Good thing we went to the other side to work.

The last one I'll share. We had this girl ask for Jesus pictures, so we gave them to her last week. We also gave her a Book of Mormon, and she took it no problem! We later found out that all the items were for her boyfriend, and he told us he wanted to learn what the Book of Mormon was! We tried to set up an appointment but he didn't answer for over a week. But yesterday he answered, and now we have a video call on Wednesday!

“The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives."

-Russell M. Nelson

This is one of my favorite quotes! I've been able to relate to it a lot up here in Alma. I've definitely found a love for it up here, but I've also felt like death lol. It's been a rollercoaster being away from literally everyone in the whole mission. Usually I like it, but there are moments where it's hard, (like everything). As I've been able to put my effort towards the focus of my life, I've been able to have more of an eternal perspective. The light has been able to shine brighter, and I've learned God doesn't leave his children in the dark. He leads us.

That's all for now, I'm out.
