Volume 71: Sardines < Chocolate Muffins
What a week! This one was definitely one for the books! We had lots of fun, lots of miracles, and some wack stuff. All things needed to have a great week I would say.
Ok Saturday we decided to go to our fun downstairs neighbor for a visit. We brought him some muffins for a gift, and he really enjoyed them. He actually enjoyed them so much that he gave us a gift in return. Sardines. How nice. We just added them to the collection that we already have in our cupboard. He invited is to sit, so we did and we just listened to him talk. We found out really fast that he was high, and loosing his mind. He said he was Jesus, and he had his followers with him. Obviously there was no one around except us. Then he started to describe something called "Honketon" I think, but I have no idea what that was. He was showing us what he thought was something, but it was actually nothing. I think an imaginary friend? Let's go with that. After he did that fun stuff, he explained that he needed to go and get ready for the sabba. So we were like ok, sure. He told us we could stay however long we wanted, and then he left. Maybe 1 minute later we heard something coming from his hallway. So we creeped over to see what's happening, and we found him absolutely passed out on his bed snoring. It was just so out of context and I was really confused. Eventually we left, and that was that.
We had zone conference this week! It was super great and I got to see some familiar faces! We left the night before so that we didn't have to drive so early in the morning. So we got to stay at Elder Felix's place (my old comp), so that was super fun. The next day we had the conference, and then we ate some pizza. I learned lots, and had a great time, so I guess that's what's a successful zone conference is. I don't know what else to say about that.
Last Tuesday I milked cows, that was such a blast. It wasnt even hard, but it was smelly. That's ok we are going back tomorrow, I guess we did a good job.
Yesterday we had a good miracle/ experience at church! This week we had special guests (the district president and his councillors), come to assist with us. We tried to invite everyone cause we wanted them to meet these people, and cause we were gonna have a lunch after. We did as much as we could, and we had 10 people show up! That was cool. One of the people was one of our friends! Now that's a good story. Flashback now to last week Sunday, I saw that our church here in Alma had reviews on it. I just kinda felt like I should check it out, and when I did the first one that popped up was someone who wanted to attend church! This person put this on 4 months ago, so it wasn't too old. We looked for them on Facebook, found her, then texted her to see if she was still interested. She responded with a big yes! Now moving back to yesterday, she actually came! We later found out that she had been taught 8 years ago, and now is more open to learn more! She even asked for a Book of Mormon. God is not forgetting about his children here in Alma, that's for sure. Moral of the story, check Google reviews for people that want to come to church.
I'm gonna end it there, peace out.
