Volume 65: Onion Ring

Quoi de neuf people!

This was a good week, with lots of success, and lots of blessings! The Lord's hand was definitely present throughout the week and I'm so greatful for that! No matter what happens, he is always there to show you light, hope, and a positive outlook of the situation that you could be in. Also before I start, what the heck is happen in Ottawa lol. I'm really not that close to it at all but I like to think I am. Seems like a phat party or something, and a great opportunity to share the gospel.

To start off we reached out finding goal this week, which means we found 2 new people to teach! It was awesome and shows that when you ask the Lord for help, he will! The first one is an old lady who is 86. She is also "in perfect health condition" as she told us 5 times. She then followed by explaining her whole life story... litterly. We were there for an hour, at a complete strangers home. It's crazy to me sometimes that people just let you in their homes. I guess that means she trusted us. In her story she explained that she has had a recent death in her family of 13! We were able to share a principle of eternal families, and make a return appointment with her! We pray she will be open to learn more! The next person was someone who kinda self reffered himself to us which is pretty cool. We work at a food bank with 4 people, and there is one man who likes to practice this English with us. So we talk to him a lot, and he asked us what we were and stuff like that the first time we met him. As we kept coming back he kept coming up to us, until one day my companion and I were talking about going to ask him for his contact information. Then not even 10 seconds later, he asked for our contact information... big bruh moment. We ended up having a lesson on Friday at the famous mall where we have all of our lessons since we can't in people's homes. He was able to express his beliefs which was that he was atheist, but wantes to see if God existes or not. He asked us pretty personal questions which lead to us bearing testimony of why we do what we do. It was pretty cool! We pray he finds what he's looking for, and that God will prevail in his life!

Now back to the mall thing, we teach all of our friends in the mall, which really isn't a mall cause ya know we live in Alma. But that doesn't stop us. It all started with Jean, who buys us a drink and 2 Subway cookies each time we meet. We have now become regulars there. After we get our snacks, we walk to the only bench in the mall which is the most disgusting thing I've seen. The reason why we go there is cause no one is ever there, but the reason why no one goes there is cause it's so gross, finally the reason why it's so gross is cause they don't want people sitting there cause if covid... so they don't ever clean it. That doesn't stop us, and no one cares here. This is also why my email is called "Onion Ring", because that is the nickname I have recieved from our friend Jean. I have absolutely no idea where he got that from, but I just go with it. He is a party each time, and basically a teenager in a 65 year old body.

We had a pretty cool spiritual experience also this week! So I'm Alma there are lots of inactive members, basically all of them are. So we have been trying to get in contact with those people who we have no information on except maybe an address that is many years old. Lots of our visits really are a jump of faith honestly. This one in particular lived an hour and a half away. We planned on going a week earlier, but as we were on the road my companion felt like we should not continue. So we turned around and did something else. We decided to try again on Saturday, and we went through with it. When we got to the address, we knocked on the door and some dude opened it. It wasn't who we were looking for. Luckily the guy was nice enough to let us in, and help us find his house since he knew a general idea of where it was. All he really knew was that it's beside a garage, it's blue, and it's got two stories. He also didn't really give us a road, but he gave us a general direction. After like 5-10 minutes he said we were "testing his patience", so we left quick after that. We took this man's advice and started looking. We had no idea what was gonna come our of this, but we tried and looked around this little town and came across a garage that had 2 stories, and it was blue (kind of). We were hoping that was what he meant, so we went and knocked. It wasn't him. But for some reason this new guy knew who we were talking about. He told us his house was right in front of the library. So we went straight there. When we got there, what did we see? A garage right beside a blue house that was 2 stories high. Exactly what the first man said, so it had to be it. It was! We ended up talking to him for an hour and for a return appointment! His needed us to find this less active member. It was cool to see it all work out. God doesn't forget his children, he always provides a way! I'm grateful that my companion acted on his spiritual prompting cause maybe those other men were not home at the time or wouldn't of helped us!

This week we have zone conference over zoom... that's awesome... not. But we also have echanges with the 2 native frenchies in person so that will be fun. It's good to have some things to look forward too.

Let me know how your week went!
