Volume 56: Stressmas

Quoi de neuf?

 

 

Hope this week was great everyone, over here in the freezing cold I guess you could say it was a good week. Always full of miracles, and Christmas is coming fast so what else could I ask for? I love Christmas so much, and yes I've been listening to that music since September hehe, now it actually applies to life. Feels good. It's actually very cold, and it will just get colder in January and February (that's what everyone tells us here), I feel prepared cause I've already experienced one, but that was in Covid where I could literally watch people get pulled over past 8... if y'all read my emails you would remember lol that was a while ago. But anyways it's good to be alive. We bought a Christmas tree for 2 dollars thinking we didn't have one, then we actually looked and realized we had one and it's much better. Now we have 2.

 

 

Ever since our mission has stressed "member work" we have been grinding to talk to like all of them a lot. I hope they don't get annoyed hehe, but it's fine. So we had a lot of memeber lessons, and we have a lot more this week. Members are amazing! I love it here so much, most people are nice lol. We are hoping to see all this member work blossom into good fruit! This week we made cookies for them, and delivered them. I will say they weren't the best thing I made, but they ate them still and that's all that matters. One member in particular took the cookies, then decided to roast me on the other thing I made for them... I'm going to redeem myself this Friday when we go over there.

 

 

As some people know, Christmas is great. It also means that Light the Word is here! If y'all don't know that you will see on my social media cause I'm gonna post everyday lol. So with that there is a lot of work to try and help spread Christmas cheer and stuff like that. One thing we are doing is putting on a Christmas concert with the members and anyone who wants to come! So we have been planning that as well as many many many other things... it's very stressful but hey, it makes time go fast! So us (sisters and elders) are playing lots of music at that concert, so that means we have to practice sooo much cause we can't disappoint right? So that's fun. Also one of the Sisters here decided to volunteer me to play the piano for the Primary Christmas concert in church... not funny. She thought it was. Those are kind of the big things happening, but there will be more updates in the future cause this isn't over. It's just beginning.

The work is going great! We have someone getting baptized in December 12 and we are so excited for Jasmine! She is 11, and has such a strong testimony! We have been working with her for awhile and it's so nice to see her grow in the gospel! Also other great news, we went over to our great friend Nubias house who is progressing very well! She really wanted to make bread with us, so we did! Then after we taught her a leçon, and invited her to be baptized! She said yes! We just need to figure out some things and then she is so ready! I was very nervous to ask, but we read a great scripture, and she knew exactly what we were going to ask her! I didn't really even have to ask! It was a good time.

 

 

Today in personal study (which was short) I prayed to have something stick out to me! This is what I came across!

 

 

"...therefore have we not great reason to rejoice?"

This made me think a lot. There are so many bad things in world, especially now. I feel like things come into our way so easily and create stress, fear, doubt or really anything negative. It's sucks, and puts a toll on our day and even our mental health. But, when we think of all the blessings, the great things that are in this world; we will always have a great reason to rejoice! Don't dwell on the past, or on your faults. Instead find that great reason to rejoice, and I promise you will be able to everytime! God loves you!
