Volume 50: Oh Boy...
Oh. My. Gosh.
That basically sums up the whole week here in Victoriaville. I knew on Wednesday after all the news we had received that this week was gonna be a memorable one. I new that I was gonna name it "oh boy..." that's literally how I felt all week. But, it's over (kind of) and we have a new one ahead of us! Let's begin...
So to start of we got transfers! Love it when that happens. We got them last Monday night, and drum roll... I'm staying with Elder Felix in Victoriaville to finish his training (training is 2 transfers). BUT we got a new Elder so we are in a trio! My first one! It's super dope already, but there is a plot twist. Love those. I'm training TWO Elders. Not just one anymore, a phat 2. So that's been a little stressful in some areas of the week, but not as bad as when I got Elder Felix cause now I kinda know a little more of what I'm doing. So ya. We left on Thursday night to go and get him in Montreal so that we could drive up back here the next morning on Friday. We had plans to stay the night in another Elders home and all was gonna be good. But nooooo that was not the case here. When we got to Montréal Thursday night, we got a call saying that Elder Curtis (the new one) would be coming the next day. So we decided to say the night and whole day Friday in Montréal which was exciting cause I've never really experienced it. But let me say driving there is the worst, and just adds more stress. But it's good practice. So we stayed with Elder Reese and Harding which were both a great time! Elder Reese was my old district leader so I was happy to see him. So we spent the day with them, and had to cancel all of our lessons on Friday so that wasn't ideal, but we had no choice. It's a two hour drive back home so not worth it. It was a good day, got some crepes and drank some water. Then on the night of Friday, we were ready to pick up our new Elder, and we got another call saying that he was gonna come in 3 hours later. So we slept for 3 hours and woke up to get him in the house. So not much sleep that night. Then the next day we had 4 lessons, so we had to get out and drive asap, but Elder Curtis didn't have all of his luggage and the other Elder that was with him on the plane didn't either, so we had to go get it from the airport (little detour). BUT, we found out after 3 hours at the airport that his luggage and the other Elders was in Dallas... so that's great. He still doesn't have his luggage. So that sucks, wearing the same clothes lol, we hope it's getting mailed today. So basically it was a long week. But we were major blessed in it! Dispite all the crazyness we still made all of our goals! So that was a relief and a big blessing from the Lord. We are praying for Elder Curtis cause everyone needs their luggage when they leave, especially for 2 years lol. I am glad to be serving in my home country. So we are all tired but ready to go.
Then we had a lesson later when we got home which was Saturday at 4pm. It was at 8pm, so we didn't have so much time, since we had other things to do. In other words, planning lesson was very minimal. But it was extremely inspired by the Holy Ghost, and it was awesome! I was thinking about what to do for it the whole way home,. Eventually I thought if basing it off the talk by President Nelson! I told the other Elders and they said yes! Then we were like "now what can we invite him to do?" The spirit told me to "invite him to church" and ask him to "study the scriptures daily". I was like hmmmm ok listen to the spirit! In the end we all thought it was a good idea. Then while the lesson was going super well, (his name is Rejean) we asked him one last question "What can you do to strengthen your foundation in Jesus Christ"?" Guess what he said? The 2 exact things we wanted to invite him to do. He was promoted by the spirit, and he knew for himself that that was what he needed to do. So we invited him to do just that, and each if us bore powerful testimony! That is a perfect example of how God is always there for you and me and everyone each day! Even if it's the worst week ever, we just have to look for the good!
This verse has gotten me through the week! It's really a good one! Mosiah 7:33 says...
But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage.
I've been a witness to this wonderful blessing this week! It's so true!
Also forgot it was Thanksgiving, so we had poutine. It was a good replacement I'd say. Happy Thanksgiving!
This week is also a crazy one for us, so just pray for us so we don't die. That would be beautiful. We have what's called Mission Week or something I honestly forget, but we have meetings every morning and then a special zone conference on Thursday in Quebec City! I honestly didn't think I would be able to go back up there. But I will!
Also we have been assigned to find an appartment for Sisters here! The work always moves forward! Also pray so that we can find one, cause it's fun but no luck yet.
I'm out.
