Volume 46: The Poop Jumped On Me!
Salut my friends!
So this week was like pretty long but full or blessings miracles! We worked hard, had lots of rejection, but in the end we were able to find 5 new people to teach! It was great seeing all the outcomes of the work that we did this week. Now this week coming up is gonna be full of driving and meetings, but they are good ones so it's all good. We have zone conference, interviews with the president, exchanges, and we get to hear from Quinton L. Cook who is one of the 12 apostles! It's gonna be a very spiritual meeting! That is for all the missionnaires, so it's basically a family reunion. Pretty hype.
So now I'm gonna explain the title of the email. So basically at the beginning of this week we had a little toilet problem... not the greatest way to start the week I'd say. It was really fun going back and forth from the gas station, church, and porta potties for 2 days... ya it was only 2 days but still. Anyways, for some reason we couldn't fix it cause our plunger was a piece of crap and didn't do its job. So that was 2 hours of my life gone to that. Not my brightest moment. I'm not gonna name any names in this situation, cause that's just not right. I also don't want to go into to many details, so I might just leave it at that. Luckily our landlord was able to come with his phat plunger and do the trick in like 5 minutes. Thank goodness for him. Happy to say we have a working toilet now.
Like I said this week was successful but also, not. We had lots of "not interested", blank stares, confused looks, and of course slamed doors. Very eventful. We do have some people listen but then say, "I actually don't believe in God." Ok then bye. Kinda awkward but its ok. We did find 5 people tho! One man was literally the happiest I've ever seen someone to see us. Oh was kinds freaky, but I think he was drunk. It's ok tho, we are going back. But I would say the best experience was when it was like 815 and we went to this one house (it was pretty dark), but we were just doing our thing. We walked up to the door, and all of a sudden someone came out of the backyard with a flashlight and was like integrating us. We found our after he was like 12 so it was chill. But he was like "I'll go get my mom" so we waited. He actually woke her up, and got her. She was terrified, very. She said we gave her a heart attack cause no one ever goes to her home, especially when it was a little later lol. But we are going back there as well. She also thought we didn't speak French, as I was talking to her in French. It was so weird, she was like "sorry my English no good" and I'm like ya, that's why I'm speaking French and not English. I think she was tired, it's ok she was very nice and it was a good time.
We had a very cool experience this week, it definitely strengthed my testimony on the fact that God answers our prayers and puts the people that need the gospel in our path. So earier that same day I was studying "pray with faith" (under chaper 4) in preach my gospel which I suggest yall to do. I came across a point where it said:
"Pray that you will be shown where to go and what to do. Pray that you will be led to those who are prepared to receive the message of the Restoration. Pray that you will recognize them."
I was like dang that's a good idea, we definitely need to be able to recognize the people that are put in our path, not just have in our path (if that makes sense). Anyways so I decided to pray for that in my prayers. Then comes the night and we had a few people to visit and we didn't know where to start. We eventually decided on a family who was less active, and who we've been meaning to visit for a week. So we went over, and pulled up in front of their home and noticed someone walking up and down the sidewalk in the phone. I was like bruh what are the odds they are literally right there. Of course it was the mom. We could tell cause she was definitely eying us down. I was like bruh this could be like a 5 second visit. We get out, say hi and talk for a little bit. She then stopped talking, looked at us and said "ya know 30 minutes ago is was just thinking about how the missionnaires never come visit anymore, and I really need them." I was like shoot good thing we came (I didn't say that), but it was just a spirit hit in the face. God does answer our prayers when we take action on what he gives us. We were able to find out she just got divorced and lost her job. She just needed a spiritual message. We are excited to see her and her family more!
So ya that was basically the week! Pretty crazy and wonderful at the same time. I also had a smile cookie from Tim's and it was good, so go get one :)) Hope y'all have a great week, and remember God's timing is perfect.
