Volume 44: Life Just Got Real

Salut!

Well it's been a week! The big transfer came and I got moved up north back to the same district that I was in again. But a different area so it's all good. We are just getting so many missionnaires, from brand new, to just new to this mission (people that get sent from their reassignments). So everyone is getting moved around. Now with everything happening, I have the blessing to finally train someone. It's been a huge worry for me, but now I've got no choice lol we are just in it together. I'm now in Victoriaville, and there were no elders here last time so everything is brand new. New members, new appartment, new friends, new Walmart. It's pretty beautiful here, not very big and it's a small branch. The first day at church was crazy, so many kids with how little the branch is. They were everywhere. There is also slim to no English here cause it's more north, a lot different than Longueuil, but that's ok. Basically very Québécois, very few Africans. It's also all of a sudden cold here and raining, and everyonw here is now in school it's crazy. September is in 2 days already! Also when we got into this appartment, there was literally 0 food cause when elders leave they have to throw everything out. Thank goodness I had my trusty Kodiak cake mix and Almond butter that I brought. We ate that for a few then got some groceries thank goodness.

Training in a new area is hard, French is hard, but I've seen many blessing in only 4 short days that I've been here. God has put people in our path that need a message of hope! It's scary but exciting! Here is a story. So when we got here the first day, we got settled and planned to meet the branch president first cause that's a good thing to do. So we got in and left, not knowing that he moved. So we went to the wrong house. We then looked on our phone and noticed that someone who had been taught before lived close by. So we went there and knocked. I was freaking out of course. But a little girl answered and said her mom was sleeping, and she was the only one home. So we made arrangements to come another time. We left, and got in the car, then the girl came running our to us and she said her mom woke up, so we went and talked to her. We found out that someone she knew died, a few days ago. It was crazy. We were able to bear testimony about the plan of salvation, and I felt the spirit speak through me it was amazing. Very cool experience, and we will be going back soon.

We also got to go into he mission home, that's where I met Elder Felix my new companion. They only other time I've been at that place was my first day, and I didn't even get to go in cause if covid. It was awesome. When everyone was there we all sang I'm a child of God. The spirit filled the room, it was crazy. The mission home is dope and very sacred! Got to see a lot of old friends!

Lots of getting to know the area, the people, and just trying to be calm and cool and collective so that nothing gets out of hand. It is definitely different and uncomfortable but I've already seen growth and things that I didn't think I could do happen. So that's a positive. Fear is everywhere, but faith kicks fear in the butt. Don't be afraid to try your hardest!

Lol (lots of love), à plus!

470 Rue Gilford (mission home) cause who knows if I will even be here next week.

Avec amour,

Elder May
