Volume 26: My New Life With A Trunky Elder
Salut les gars, est les filles! Comment ça va?
Well transfer weeks are always long just because of that extra day, but that means that this coming week will be shorter! This week was not horrible to say the least, but my companion is going home this transfer, AND it's a short transfer... so he's just counting down the days. Fun stuff. It's quite funny, but he just loves listening to this one song a lot, it's "I'm coming home" by someone (I don't remember). I think you all know what I'm talking about. I definitely have it all memorized by now. I mean it's a good song so no complaints there. Oh ya so you've probably now guessed that I am staying here in Sherbrooke with him. Not mad about it, it's a nice place and lots to do. Today we are going on a nice hike, going to a cheese place, apparently the best hard ice cream place in Québec, and back to the milk place "la pinte". So it's overall gonna be a good day. We have also planned out all of our pdays until he goes home so we have everything organized and so we don't forget anything. It's gonna be great.
This week was filled with new people! We were able to find 3 new people thanks to other missionnaires! One is named François (everyone is named that), and he came to church unexpectedly! So that was a blessing for us. The thing is, he's basically deaf, so teaching him is basically impossible. I understood his hand gestures better than his mumbles, but he texted us after and said he will always come to our church so that's promising. The second guys name is Perlerin. He's super cool and wanted a book of Mormon, so we delivered one. After he started texting us very very very weird things, so we will see where that one goes. He said he wanted to show us something, but not over text, only in person. So we tried to avoid the question and say something else but nah. Kinda sus, but we will see. The last guy was super knowledgeable about our church! We had a lesson with him with some sisters who reffered him to us, and it went pretty good. Just kinda creepy not gonna lie. I mean he seems really nice, just kinda too nice. We are hoping to have a lesson with him next week, we will see what happens. Overall these were all huge blessing because it's been pretty slow here lately, but we have seen many blessings so that's for all your prayers!
I gave a talk this past week in sacrement meeting! Kinda terrifying but I wasn't as freaked out as I thought. I just hope they all understood what I hope was French. Like usual I left it to kinda the last minute, so Elder Salmon and I spent the night before translating lots because I figured I could write in English faster then just translate it after and learn done fancy French words. Definitely did learn, but ya it took a hot minute. I based it off of Jacob 4, and talked about how sometimes we "go beyond the mark". Some of it was from President Nelsons talk about faith. A quote I really liked was "only your unbelief will keep God from blessing you with miracles to move the mountains in your life." I've learned we just have to choose to believe in Christ's plan for us, and when we do this life is just so much better.
Keep being amazing all of you, and if you want my talk I would love to send it over, just let me know!
