Volume 25: The Second Wave
Salut, tout le monde?
Hopefully y'all had a good week! It's been quite rainy all here all of a sudden, but I would have rain over snow anyday so I'll take what I can get. Hopefully the sun starts to shine some more this week!
Had a pretty great week! It was full of meetings, and since they were all in Drummondville (an hour away) we had many roadtrips this past week. We had district PDay which was awesome, then we had interviews with the President which went well, then we had zone conference in person! It was my first one finally in person and it was so great! It's nice to see other missionnaires, since that doesn't happen too often. I was also able to see some old friends, which is always nice.
Yesterday was pretty eventful because all of a sudden our data stopped working. I looked in the settings and it said that we used it all. I was freaking out cause we can't do much without data these days. But I was very confused because we all have unlimited data so this never happens. We then found out later that the company Rogers was having a problem with all their phones... so at least it wasn't my fault. It was so wierd cause them we thought of the movie "the 5th wave" and then realized that this could be the 2nd wave after covid... but now we are good so no problems here.
On Sunday we had a lesson with the Bishops family, and we talked about how Satan can sometimes make us feel like we arn't progressing. I bore testimony on about it, and it was pretty good. I think they understood, but there is always something in the back of my head thinking they are just being nice to me. They said they understood but me being me didn't believe them lol. Later the same day we went to their house to get supper, and my companion exposed me and said "Elder May doesn't think his French is getting better", and I was like bruh why you exposing me like that. Then the Bishops wife come over and says "I thought you told me that Satan makes us feel like we arn't progressing"... and I was like bruh I just got roasted by the Bishops wife... anyways it was awkward cause I didn't know what to say except to laugh nervously. But in the end it's fine, and it's funny.
Quick spiritual experience, we were teaching one of our friends progressing in the lessons, and my companion told me she was extra hard to understand. I was not looking forward to it obviously, but there's nothing I could do about it so we went on with it. Throughout the lesson I understood most parts of the sentences, I just need to work on putting them together so I'm not completely lost. But I got a pretty distinct feeling to bear testimony about faith. Luckily I've been studying that lots and I had no problem doing that. So I did it, and felt great about it. The Lord really has blessed me in this language as I've continually prayed for the gift of tongues. It's so real, and prayer is the best; but only works if you do it with faith. When we pray with faith, God's miracles will be open unto us. I have a strong testimony about that. Here's a quote from President Nelsons talk about faith!
"Only your unbelief will keep God from blessing you with miracles to move the mountains in your life."-President Nelson
If anyone is having trouble with faith I would strongly recommend reading President Nelsons talk called "Faith in him will move mountains", and I know that if you do, you will learn how to have faith in Christ!
As always I love y'all, have a great week!
Avec amour,
Elder May
