Volume 72: A&W
Hey everyone another week has come and gone, also another transfer has come and gone. Suprise I'm staying in Alma. Not even close to being a suprise because I could of told you that when I first got here. I'm happy to stay though, I love it here. Also big shoutout to my sister and her team for winning 4A provincials! Well earned, and well deserved.
First off if I were to describe this transfer, in one word it would be "A&W." I love this restaurant, but I've taken it to another level with this district of frenchies. In France it's not as good according to the Elder that is from there, AND we had like 3 coupon books. So every single time we had echanges (which was alot) we ate at A&W at least once. I've tried half the menu I would say. It really is good, but man I can't eat another teen burger for awhile. Luckily, the district is getting moved around a little, AND the coupons are now expired so we can maybe find a new place, or maybe try actually cooking lol. No beef, I definitely enjoyed it 100%, maybe not after I ate though. Anyways...
Looking back this week, I don't remember much. I did milk dem cows again though, and this time it was even faster. It's super fun, and kinda stressful especially when the owner gave me the "milking bag" and said have fun. I mean, love the trust, but maybe not the second time. In the end, no cows were unmilked. But the baby one kicked me for no reason. It's fine. The best part was when I was trying to put the sucky vacuum things on the cow, when all of a sudden I felt something wet brush my neck. I later found out that it was the cows the tail, which by the way was filled with both poop and pee. It left a nice streak on my neck. After I figured out what happened I just kept saying "just don't think about it, it's fine." Then I forgot about it (kinda). But what's even better is that my companion got pooped on. I think I got the best of both worlds. It will be the cows vs the elders pt 3 tomorrow, so stay tuned.
Sunday was awesome because our miracle friend Anna came to church again, and she brought 2/3 of her kids. One was 8, and one was 5. When I saw them, I knew right away that we were gonna have to teach primary. There is no way those 2 would sit through 80 year old men talk about come follow me... so I quickly planned something in my head that I hope was good. We sang I'm a child of God and broke down each phrase with the kids. It was so cool that the 2 kids learned about God after not knowing who he was just from a song. That song is amazing. Then we colored a picture of Jesus and talked about life. Overall a good time, and better then the other room lol. They said they would come again next week, and I hope they do! Primary is fun when it's only 2 kids, I can't imagine like 30...
We had an awesome echange this week, we found 3 new people to teach, we taught lots of lessons, we had our last district council as the OG Alma//Chicoutimi district, lots of service, and of course lots of driving. Overall a good week, and I'm not mad about it. God's hand is evident each day here. Yes it's hard and very frustrating especially when it's +12 one day, then snows 10cm the next. But I just keep saying that it's spring, and hope that brings things up more. Today I'm wearing shorts. Bad idea. In the end I'm grateful to be here, and I'm not leaving.
Today I listened to a podcast, and it was someone interviewing someone who has been through it all in her life, and dispite all that she has still been able to find so much joy in the gospel. She said "In our life before this one, we knew all the hardships we would face, yet we still decided to come to this earth to receive a moral body." (It was something like that). It made me reflect on my life, and all the stuggles I have had, especially on my mission. At one point I knew I was going to experience these trials, get I still decided to come to earth. There truly is a bigger purpose to life that we just don't know yet. But what we do know thanks to the gospel, is that we can have joy and happiness on this earth, and have the knowledge that all is possible with Christ. I'm grateful that I chose God's plan.
Well, off to eat supper at the branch presidents house for the 50th time! They love us, and we love them!
