Volume 13: The Renaissance Woman

Twas another great week in Granby dispite the restrictions that we still have to follow. Hopefully they will be lifted when they say they will be, which is like February 8 I think. Luckily they have lifted them a tiny bit, now we can have church related meetings up to 10 people max, so at least it's something. It doesn't sound like much but since our district is only a party of 6 we can now see each other again, which is always nice.

 

 

So my weird title brings a weird story, well at least for me. This might just be dumb, but we will go for it anyways. A few days ago I had the idea to put up some pictures of Christ on Facebook Market, since the Book of Mormon ads have been so successful! So we found four sets of pictures in the apartment and went with those. So I put them up one night, and right away one of the pictures of Christ was not approved by Facebook for a VERY weird reason... so I reported that to try and make it available, but it's been 4 days and the only thing that's changed is the type of violation. So that's dumb. Anyway, the next day I got a reply from a lady who wanted one. So I checked her profile (as you should) and I came to the conclusion that she was into some type of Renaissance cosplay or something not sure but that's what I thought. So we get talking and we were about to set a day and time for us to deliver it, when she decided to say nah and not want it. So I replied nicely and said "That's fine, if you change your mind or know anyone who might want a photo just let me know!" No response. The next day I get a text from her in all uppercase case letters (this is also all in French so I thought I was in trouble), but when I read it she basically Said "FINE I TAKE 2 OF EACH PHOTO, BUT NOT THE PREVIOUS ONE I REQUESTED. BRING THEM TO MY HOME AT 18H (6pm), LEAVE IT ON THE BROWN BIN THAT IS ON THE SIDE OF MY GARAGE DOOR, THEN LEAVE." I was like woah let's take it down a bit, but I didnt actually say that. When I got the text I immediately thought that the spirit told her "what are you doing you need these pictures" and that's what made her so furious. So we did exactly what she asked. Her house had no lights on so kinda sketch, but the neighbourhood was insane, and the houses were huge. She had his huge driveway and it took a minute to get up it. So we got to the garage door and there was only one bin. Any guesses? It was her garbage bin... so like that was awkward, so we either got roasted or like she only had one bin. Luckily in the text she said "on" the bin instead of "in", so we got a good chance. She claimes to have got them now, and she even loves them so all is well.

 

 

We got pulled over again hehe... this time it was because we had a little piece of ice on our windshield so the cops decided to us over just to tell us to scrape it off. What a nice guy. This was Elder Forsyths first time, so that was fun for him.

 

 

I also finally got all my packages, so that's good. You probably don't really care but I care ento add it in. I got 2 new pairs of glasses, I'll show them to ya. Also got new protein power, mint chocolate cookie, and mint chocolate cookie almond butter. So that tastes good.

 

 

Breaking news: After 6 weeks of planning for lessons, then having them cancelled, I finally had my first legit lesson with our friend on date for baptism! She is very busy and we ligit couldn't get a lesson for 6 weeks, so that was tough cause I thought I wasnt growing in my French or my teaching skills. Obviously I have been teaching other lessons, but none with a legit investigator like this. So I was pretty freaked out. But I knew that it was gonna be ok cause Elder Forsyth and I have been preparing for 6 weeks lol. We reviewed the gospel of Jesus Christ, then moved into the commandments. I said things I don't even remember, and I even shared a personal experience like what I thought I could never do that in my life. By the end of the lesson Forsyth was like dang where did that come from, and I was like I don't know. But, I do know it was definitely the gift of tougnes, and it was because we were able to diligently prepare for our lesson and not give up on her. That's how we were able to preform the way we did. The time that we gave the lesson (even though it was 6 weeks of waiting) was the best time to give the lesson, and I wouldn't of had it any other way. I know that when we sincerely put in the work, God will help us in times of need. I know that if I didn't have all that time to prepare, I wouldn't of delivered my message the proper way. The Lord works in mysterious ways, but his way is the best way.
